About the course

This immersive communication workshop is designed for carers and peer support workers who want to strengthen their confidence, empathy, and clarity when communicating across diverse care settings. This is not a lecture-based course. Instead, participants learn through realistic simulations and scenario-based activities, drawing on lived experience, shared reflection, and practical techniques that can be applied immediately in practice. Facilitated by a professional carer and trainer with lived experience, the workshop creates a supportive learning environment where participants can practise, reflect, and learn from one another.

Clear and Confident Communication

Develop practical techniques to express information clearly, reduce misunderstandings, and communicate with confidence across a range of scenarios.

Responding to Challenging Interactions

Practise approaches for managing difficult conversations, including distress, resistance, or heightened emotions, in a calm and supportive way.

Scenario-Based Learning

Engage in realistic, immersive scenarios that reflect real-life care situations, allowing you to practise communication skills in a safe environment.

Learning from Lived Experience

Gain insight from a facilitator with lived experience in care, alongside shared learning and reflection with peers.

Reflective Practice
