Day 1: Introduction to Autism and SPELL Framework

Understanding Autism: A deep dive into the characteristics of autism, focusing on sensory experiences and cognitive processes, to lay a foundational understanding. Introduction to SPELL: Explanation of the SPELL framework values, focusing on how it shapes interactions and support mechanisms for autistic individuals. Empathy and Support: Discussing the role of empathy in understanding and interacting with autistic people, and how to use positive reinforcement effectively.

Day 2: Implementing SPELL in Supportive Environments

Low Arousal Approaches: Strategies for creating calming environments to reduce anxiety and enhance comfort for autistic individuals. Structured Supports: Examining how structured environments and routines can aid in reducing challenges associated with autism. Building Links and Strategic Planning: Focusing on the importance of collaborative links between caregivers, professionals, and communities to support autistic individuals effectively. This includes strategic planning to implement SPELL principles comprehensively.
